Pebbles and Shells

In a way I prefer a pebble and shell beach to sand, rather than a vast stretch of beach made from uniform, tiny grains each stone and shell is different, each shaped by the sea and each tactile enough to be picked up and examined. I generally take home a shell or pebble from every beach trip and put them together in piles or in glass pots, I guess making my own little beaches at home.
