Reflected Sound

After wanting to visit Kent’s remote beaches of Dungeness for ages I finally drove over there with copilot and photographer Elizabeth a week ago. The sound mirrors were secret experiments in attempting to locate aeroplanes crossing the channel back in the 20s and 30s, back before radar. This particular dish is a 200 foot long, concrete curved wall. I’ll add add photos of the other dishes soon and more photos from the beaches.

Wow, these are really something. The mirrors *and* your photos of them. They look like spires; they look like castles. Loved and neglected all at once.
