Beach Thistles

Low Sun

Dead Thistles And Soft Sunlight

Liz and I went on a much shorter road trip the other weekend, we spent an afternoon exploring Selsey and Pagham Harbour, both just south of Chichester. East of Selsey are long shingle and shell beaches all the way up to the reed beds, woodland, mudflats and water of the harbour. As we walked all along the headland with the low sun there were dead thistles by the dozen, one of the many interesting things we found. More photos soon.

Those aren’t Thistles, they’re Teasels.

Still pretty though.

Learn something new every day! I have been thinking about taking a bird book out with me recently but I figure bar the lack of binoculars that makes me an official birdwatcher. Oh dear. Sounds like I need a plant book too…
