Mouth of the River Part 1
At the point where the Hamble river joins the Solent, the beach and wetlands curve up to a hook of shingle stretching out in to the water. The hook is a protected area for rare nesting birds and they watch on as the large ships pass by, some on their way to Southampton docks, some to the aviation fuel refinery. The area is one of those interesting places where nature and industry meet.
