Lakes, Rivers and Streams

Taking a quick look back to a walk around Arundel back in the summer, these photos were from the lake and stream by the castle. The lake was home to people slowly meandering around in row boats eating ice-creams. The stream was home to wildfowl bobbing along and washing, on the bank a water vole watched the world go by.

Hopefully the warm, dappled sunlight on the water will trigger summer memories to warm your cold bones a little.

Blimey the last photo took me by surprise.

It’s got a really dreamy, washed out feeling: It’s looks like a still from Ivanhoe.

Have you picked up a bird book yet? I saw a Kingfisher again the other day (or a rather, I saw a lightning flash of iridescent blue…).

The castle is strange, it looks almost too castle cliche, like it is from a theme park or something.

Not got a book yet but seriously considering some binoculars! Would love to catch sight of a kingfisher. RSPB membership may be in my future.
