Wide and Broken Eye in 1997
Back in 1996 and early 1997 I was still shooting with my crappy, broken compact camera I had bought from Dixons for £12 (inc. film, batteries and case). Probably the best thing I ever bought in retrospect. At around the start of 1997 I was starting to get frustrated with the lack of controls on the camera so began experimenting, one particular way was by using my crappy video camera fisheye lens. The camera lens was tiny and didn’t have a thread or anything like that so I would have to hold the fisheye against the camera body and this obscured the viewfinder so it was all point-and-hope.
Not many of the photos came out and all were very soft focus but I do have a few from Southsea and a couple from when a bunch of us got the train up to London. Triggers some great memories.
