The last of the photos from the Brighton trip are of the West Pier, now more an iconic landmark than it ever was before the fire. Despite taking photos of the pier on every trip to Brighton it still always draws the eye, always different with every change in the weather and seasons.

Back in Brighton, for the first time in a long time I explored around the beach side remains of the old pier, many of which look as if the place hadn't retreated in to the sea but was simply closed for the winter. If anything the beach side is just as interesting as the skeletal remains in the sea as where that transformed through fire this side of the pier was suspended in time.

Just before Christmas I visited Brighton for the first time in a long time and as usual the beach and pier pulled me away from the lanes and people to the blue sky and sea. Some things and some places you never stop inspiring you to look at time and time again as something will always be different. It may be the weather, it may be the people, it may be the light, but something always keeps it fresh.
